Review of a Review

I am going to a review of a review for Empire magazine for the film Thor.

DVD REVIEW

Thor

Star Rating: *****

Thor (Chris Hemsworth) is the would-be king of all of Asgard, one of the nine worlds of the universe. Problem was is that when his enemy the Frost Giants invaded his home while interrupted an important ceremony and decided to got his own back. Sadly his father who is the King of the Gods Odin banishes him for his arrogance and now Thor is stuck on Earth....

Here is another Marvel Comic made into movie only this time it's not remake like the Hulk with different actors with Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Natalie Portman as Jane Foster as well as Tom Hiddleston as Loki (Wallander) and Idris Elba as Heimdall (BBC's Luther)

Before I start this isn't you typical action movie, as well as being part of the famous comics. the characters themselves are heavily based in Norse Mythology which makes them more real to believe plus unlike the Hulk, Iron Man and Captain Amercia - Thor is an actual God, one of thunder at that.

It's pretty cool how the scenes keep changing from old times to the modern day and when near at the end, both worlds collide and the fight scenes that comes with it are amazing. Today work with special effects and CGI are worth the work otherwise the film would have looked rubbish and the costumes would have been made fun of.

Overall the film was worth watching and as a fun of Mythology itself it was pretty cool how they made the best of both worlds. Also this film makes the next coming movie The Avengers (2012) all the more worth to wait for all of the Marvel heroes to get together and kick some evil guy butt!
