END OF COLLEGE DAYS!!!

The time has come to declare that I have finished college for good! Or at least until I have something new I want to learn or go to uni (properly not as I don't have £9000!)

Overall I got a Distinction * which is bloody good and I got the same grade on the BTEC First in  Media so...yeah I am very happy about that!

Just wanted to say thanks to all the tutors over the last three years for everything and helping me with tasks that I had trouble with understanding and all the times I would get stress over everything that could go wrong and hope the future students work just as hard next year (well maybe a few really good ones anyways!"

HAPPY DAYS EVERYONE!! I AM NOT SURE WHAT I AM GOING TO BE DOING NOW OTHER THAN TRYING TO EARN SOME MONEY BUT I REALLY HOPE TO WORK BEHIND THE CAMERA OR IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA IN THE FILM BUSINESS (You gotta dream ya know!!)

FMP PRODUCTION DIARY 2013 BLOG

The biggest project of the course is here - there is simply no avoiding it and because it is required I am going to keep track and nearly every little thing while making my FMP (Final Major Project).

February - March 2013

Search looking for Secondary research on the three idea that I might want to use for the project: Alzheimer's, Sailing and Fandom

February 14th
Print out research

Begin highlighting everything

February 16th
Highlighting the research is  taking longer than I thought - then I get told that I have to annotate what I might use in the documentary and I already wrote lots!

February 27th

Emailed a Sailing Charity Organisation

March 4th

Pitch Project Presentation - decided to go with Fandom

March 21st

First Primary research Interview

March 29th

Second Primary Reseach Interview

March 30th

Two More Primary Research Interviews

April 17

Emailed again to the Portsmouth Sherlock Museum again - just realised I forgot the most important part of starting an email "Dear Sir/Madam"

Emailed also to Another Sherlock Museum  in London

Emailed to Terry Pratchett's agent Colin Smythe

Getting a little bit worried about all of this......

Worried about Vox Pops - think of using Fareham Town Centre or anywhere on on the street

An Hour later: No on the London Museum, or Kaleb Nation, or Terry Pratchett as I get replies back

Wrote more of the script - near the end - I think

April 18th

Ask Ingrid for a extended loan on the equipment

April 19th

Not feeling too great but filming a few stuff and voice over

April 21st

Finishing up the script

April 22

*singing* I am not getting enough interviews - would really need some vox pots

Email to Penny to see when her grandson would be available

Email Phil about the questions

Make a Word Doc about the questions

Thinking of title sequence and arguing with Neil about the difference between "crazy" and "fanatic"

April 24th

Getting real depressed with all of this as no-one at all will reply or say yes to a interview

Had a brain storm with my Auntie and suddenly I'm OK again - sort of

Got a list of people to ask and hope I will my aunt's help in calling them too.

Hopefully now the script will be better as I couldn't really finish without interviews for a direction.

April 25

Download Archive footage clips as it is about Arthur Conan Doyle and Sherlock's demise in Switzerland and the idea behind it

Have a crazy idea of asking the fans on Twitter for help...

April 26

Call Tina to ask if she and Chloe will be OK with an interview

Talk to Steve what needs to improve on the journal (loads as usual)

Maybe film of myself about fandom facts. or something.

April 28th

With Mum, wrote some more questions for the interviews - if I ever get more than two...

April 29th

Write up about what I will be using for cutaways and graphics for the FMP

Analyse the FMP so far.....Oh yeah it's going well (sarcasm...)

Did a timeline about how I would set the interviews in a certain order. This helped because this way I knew what to end the documentary with. This is also a great way of getting myself organised as I am stressing out a lot over this.

Done email to Tina and Chloe

April 30th

May email to Penny again as I have no answer

May 1st

With Sedtin's suggestion - email Bambi and Vicki through Facebook to ask them for interviews.
Quick message back both of them said that they will - got it all sorted and the dates for the interviews - 8th and 9th May

Got another interview with help from my Auntie - her daughter-in-law Kelley who is a huge Harry Potter fan and is a mother of two children which one of them is also a huge harry Potter fan. The interview was arranged on the 9th May.

Print out emails - tried again with Penny but nothing - I may never got the interview done in time
anyways

work on the voice overs

May 11th

Finish the work that is long over due

Got one more interview - Tim Foster, a huge Marvel comic fan for next Monday

May 13th

Interview with Tim went well - but he forgot to bring in comics for cutaways so may have to work on that.....

May 14th

Interview with Phil Smith - went really well, got a lot of cutaways to use which is good

May 15th

Work more on animation today - will work on my journal later in the evening

May 17th

Got to get a move on with the editing, although I am ahead of the game - doesn't stop me from worrying like hell!!!

Frustrated with some of the video clips that were hazy/fuzzy and out of sync even though they worked on my laptop. Download those voice overs and myself clips again later.

May 19th

With my nephew's birthday party on Saturday will work more on the journal and do what Steve suggested about the production work - time management, list of contacts - that sort of stuff.

May 20th

Print out the rest of RECCE location. the list of contacts and finish up Time Management

Editing a lot today but now I have TOO much that I want to stick in SOOOO little time!!!

City of Bones Theatrical Trailer/Trailer 2 Feedback

On the day it was suppose to be out - I literally couldn't stop looking at my phone or the laptop Internet and because of the time differences I had to wait until Midnight - or ten minutes before as it came out early. The moment I saw it and click on it, the screen was small and I was all "WTF!!" but then went straight for it and watched it - and then figured how it get it big on screen and watched another 15 times more. And more after that in the next few days.

I was SOOOOOO excited as I love the book series and anything else by Cassandra Clare (Clockwork Princess is sooooo brilliant by the way!) and I am super excited about the movie (The cast is awesome by the way - Jamie IS Jace - has been since the beginning!!) and so this was a definite break between now and the movie release day August 23rd. Sooooo long by the way it is killing me!!!

I seen the reaction from the comments on YouTube and so on elsewhere and the reaction was good - Nope....more than that - FANDOM MAYHEM EVERYWHERE!!!!! (some negative people who aren't fans cannot deal with this amazing book should just go away for crying out loud!!)

My reaction - I. Was. Speechless. It was weird because in the in ten minutes before it was out I was pacing, heart pounding and literally wanted to scream and shot about it but then after I saw the trailer - I was calm and collected but I was sooooo happy.

Now we all know that because the book is nearly 450 pages so there's gonna be changes and some things taken out but so far from what I've seen and heard - it is AWESOME!! Everything in the trailer was perfect and it leaves you with wanting more.

The first thing I noticed or I reckon is that the "Pandemonium" scene that is the first scene of the book to be a little later after the movie starts which I think works as for anyone who hasn't read the books yet would understand the storyline a little more - I think.

Now for anyone who has read the books and seen both trailers will notice that Jace's eyes kept changing from blue to pale yellow and then back and forth. I'm like "OK" because from what I heard Jamie couldn't wear contacts and neither could Lily (because in the book Clary has green eyes instead of brown) and because of the stunts they did would mess up their vision - and why would we because they both have pretty, pretty eyes! And it's the same thing with the posters with Jace on it - one blue, one pale yellow if you look on the ITunes page. Still it is going to be interesting because when the movie comes out we will find out the reason and I remember Cassandra Clare saying (can't remember the article) that there are "plans" about Jace's eyes and I'm like "There are plans?" and then the fangirl comes out.

Either way I don't mind because when the teaser trailer came out it took 10 times watching until I realised "Jace's eyes are blue?!" but because Jamie put sooooo much of the character of Jace into the role - I thought "oh well - Jamie is Jace anyways" HAPPY TIMES!!

I still think that Valentine should have his silvery hair but Jonathan Rhys Meyers is a brilliant actor so I'm gonna let that go. If Cassie can about the casting and the filming things that weren't in the book - then I can too and besides changes are good if the original idea is there somewhere along the line.

I really like the music tracks that are played throughout - I don't know why some people didn't like the Radiohead track (All I need) - I thought it set the mood like the dark is descending slightly and it was brilliant hearing "Surface of the sun/Kaneda's Death, Pt. 2" again - I really love that track. It was nice to hear something new "Echelon" by Jack Trammell. All great music!!!!

Using PrintScreen button and Photoshop - I made screenshots - took me FOREVER but hey when you love something you don't really care. I certainly didn't!!
